ODME is seeking a System Administrator with a strong Linux, Windows, and VM administration background to join our team in a sustainment environment.

Work Location:  NIWC PAC, Point Loma, CA

Security Clearance:  Secret

Responsibilities:

  • The System Administrator is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining and implementing solutions to optimize the infrastructure operations.
  • Analyzes and identifies all or part of a company’s existing or new computer (and/or server), peripheral, network, and telecommunications systems requirements, taking into consideration the special technology needs.
  • Maintains systems integration solutions to total system or subsystems.
  • Follows functional and technical specifications, solves hardware/software interface problems, and ensures integration of the entire system or subsystem.

Required Skills:

  • Two or more years of experience directly related to Linux System Administration, including installation and maintenance of software and hardware.
  • Background in Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Experience in administering Windows servers and workstations.
  • Knowledge of VMware products and architecture.
  • Experience in “commercial off the shelf” (COTS)/GOTS/FOSS software installations.
  • Background in applying STIG settings to each product or underlying OS.
  • Background in Network administration and troubleshooting.
  • Must work independently and troubleshoot problems with speed and efficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to research, create, and follow detailed computing system documentation and operational guides/procedures.
  • Must be able to handle a fast paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds in support of hardware installations.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Powershell, Bash, or Python.
  • Knowledge of Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS), desired.
  • Knowledge of Office 365.
  • Knowledge of AWS tools.

Salary Range: $60,000 – $90,000
