Job Summary

The Network Systems Administrator will provide support to our on-site NIWC PAC customers located in Point Loma, San Diego, CA. The Network Systems Administrator will provide technical and operational support to maintain the design and implementation of complex network and systems infrastructure for Navy Command, Control, Communications, Computers, & Intelligence (C4I) systems and software.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy, configure, patch and manage Windows, Linux, VMware/ESXi, and OpenShift (i.e. containers) assets and associated environments to include hardware (firmware, configuration, connecting, KVM, etc.).
  • Configure and maintain servers running Linux/Windows operating systems, Mware/ESXi, and OpenShift, ensuring optimal performance and stability, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of Linux and virtual environment command line operations.
  • Conduct regular overall system and network security assessments (ACAS and other scans), identify vulnerabilities, and perform system hardening and security configuration for DoD- compliant environments, adhering to STIGs and DOD standards.
  • Troubleshoot complex system issues across all environments to include resident non-owned applications.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of Linux/UNIX/Container based system administration, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Extensive experience with:
    • RedHat Linux OS, standard container OS’s (e.g. Alpine, UBI8, Quarkus, etc.) and RKE2 (Rancher Kubernetes Engine 2) and containerized applications
    • Kubernetes, Podman
    • Ansible Playbooks and Helm Charts
    • Longhorn, Ambassador EdgeStack
    • Yum repo patches
  • Security+ Certification (active)
  • RedHat Linux Certification (active)

Salary: $90,000
