Summary:

The DevOps Engineer will provide support to our NIWC PAC MGF customers located in San Diego, CA.  The DevOps Engineer will focus on making the tools (e.g., Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket, Artifactory, Openshift, Jenkins, CodeDx, Coverity, Jama, and Swaggerhub, etc.) available to customers on a new platform. The platform will allow developers to work on software without the need for VPN while ensuring DoD security standards.

Responsibilities:

  • You will have hands on development responsibility to build tools and improve performance, perform root cause analysis of production errors, and resolve technical issues, developing scripts to automate tasks and deploy updates and fixes and provide technical support. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate deeply in different aspects of software development lifecycle. You will need to have hands on experience with some or all of the following:
  • AWS EKS
  • Helm charts
  • OpenShift hosted on AWS
  • Wiz and ACAS
  • A combination of several AWS tools to support their workflows: EC2, EKS, AWS Secrets Manager, Route 53, etc.
    • Skills/Qualifications:
      • 2+ years of hands-on experience developing and testing software.
      • Experience as a DevOps engineer or in a similar software engineering role.
      • Experience with Pipelines (Creation and Editing)
      • Experience with Linux Internals including commands.
      • Experience with Linux Device Drivers / Kernel Experience
      • Experience with Docker / Containers
      • Experience with VM (Virtual Machines) Hypervisors
      • Experience with Python, C, C++
      • Experience with BASH
      • Experience with git, JIRA, Confluence.
      • Experience with Agile methodologies.
      • Working knowledge of databases and SQL including NOSQL
      • Proficient with Rust
      • Ability to learn fast, multitask and drive tasks to completion.
      • Ability to present technical concepts to peers and leadership.
      • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion.
      • Must have can do attitude and be problem solver.

Requirements:

  • Security+ Certification (active)
  • Operating Systems Certification (RHEL, AWS and/or Windows OS)
  • Bachelor’s Degree

Salary:   $90,000 – $135,000
